Well, I'm back. I spent some time putting a book nook together, just taking a break. Not creative in the sense that someone else designed it, but fun to put together. I think it's important to spend some time doing just fun things for enjoyment. Taking a mental break and/or recharging one's battery.
Anyway, I did this painting a couple of months ago, but am just getting around to posting it. I started out doing a sketch, not with anything particular in mind, other than I wanted to start with a big downward curve on the right side, like a big splash of color. What came out, instead was a sketch with fish in it. I have no idea how that came about. Go figure the creative process. I had fun doing it. Part of me asked myself, is this too hokey. They say we are are own worse critic....or is it enemy? We are too hard on ourselves. I guess some viewers might like it, some might laugh at it, or ridicule it, and some might say "it's not very serious" (lowering the value of the work). Oh well. We still have put work out in the world, put your head on the chopping block, as it were. I hope my readers-hope there are some of you out there-like it. Please note that the original pencil sketch is at the bottom of these pictures.
More later. Thanks, Russ Eng
