This painting was done a long time ago.  It has been hanging in my work area for quite some time.  I was trying to come up with an idea/composition for my 2022 Calendar pen and ink drawing.  I did some quick sketches, as I usually do, but nothing came up that I liked.  I happen to stare off into space and then glanced over across to the opposite wall and looked at my semi-abstract painting from years ago.  It suddenly dawned on me that I could use the upper half of the painting as a starting point for my 2022 calendar drawing.  So you can see the painting and then look at the pencil sketch below to compare the two.  Obviously, the sketch changed as I worked on it, but it did come and was inspired by the painting.
